 RMAA is hard at work for its members and the agribusiness community as a whole. We strive to focus our efforts in areas that will have the greatest benefit to our members. Some of RMAA's accomplishments are listed here so you can see how your membership dollars have been at work as we continue to be a champion of the agricultural industry and its leaders.


Operations –

  • Annual strategic planning session to ensure focus and goals are set

  • Continued use of Gary Leeper and Interactive Management, Inc. to manage daily activities

Legislation –

  • RMAA member Steve Young named to State Agricultural Commission
  • Actively opposed SB 13-252 through testimony, member correspondence and discussion with legislative leaders
  • RMAA testimony helps postpone GMO labeling bill (HB 13-1192) indefinitely
  • Regular testimony and written support of various legislative initiatives
  • RMAA retained lobbyist, Shayne Madsen to manage legislative efforts 

Education –

Summer Meeting

  • Attracted more than 150 agribusiness leaders
  • Featured Lisa Drake of Monsanto with lively discussion on GMOs and agribusiness
  • Featured Deputy Commissioner Ron Carleton for a "state of the industry” address
  • A panel of legislators including Tim Dore, Lori Saine and Jerry Sonnenberg addressed issues and concerns on water, regulations during an open Q&A
  • Annual dinner and auction raised funds for scholarships

Annual Convention & Trade Show

  • More than 350 attendees from the region
  • Vendor and trade exhibits
  • Certification programs in public safety & health control, crop management, use of pesticides, nutrient management, water issues and pest management
